CMIS Main Functions
Registration and Central Index
You can register, and maintain complete data files for all patients, including such Information as demographics, and insurance provider and type of coverage plan. The system automatically assigns a medical record number to all patients entered. The Central Index of patients provides numerous filtering methods to search for a particular patient.
This function is used whenever you do not have enough time to complete a full registration record or on emergency conditions. For example, a new patient wants to take an appointment by telephone, or the secretary is busy for any reason, etc.
It is the core of the system, which helps the doctor to perform several functions within a single screen. On the Patientâ€™s Chart window there are four toolbars:
Stamps - There is the facility to add stamps. Using those stamps, the doctor can show any symptoms.
Tools - The Patient's Chart screen is supplied with a complete set of graphical tools. Moreover, he can set his treatment plans, and add comments through the Comments Memo. Adding to this, there is the Launcher, which helps you to run any external program while running the Patient's Chart, such as Word, Excel, Defrag, etc.
Main program - The Patient's Chart is equipped with an icon to browse the human body library, from which you can select a specific image to display on the screen work area.
Special Programs - This tool bar contains all the programs related to the selected specialty. You can move any of these toolbars from its default position to any location on the screen to better fit your working style and the picture's layout.
The Reports module allows you to generate a number of detailed reports for the Patient Chart module. You can select more than one report to be printed.
CMIS allows the doctorâ€™s valuable time to be most effectively managed by providing an organized, efficient system for scheduling and reviewing patient appointments. The module contains a small calendar, through which any day can be selected, to schedule or review appointments. A large window displays the appointments on the selected day, including details.
Accounting Functions are a collection of programs that enable the user to control and manage patientsâ€™, doctorsâ€™ and medical coverage accounts.
Major functions are: Patientâ€™s billing, Patientâ€™s payments, Adding new charges, Printing bills, invoices and payment lists, in addition to labs accounting.
Accounting functions allow the user to keep extremely detailed account sheets for each patient. Enter only a procedure and a discount type (if there is one), and the system automatically performs the whole work for you. The system allows you to display all the due charges of each individual patient and the charges during specific intervals of time. You may select to see only the paid or unpaid charges of a selected patient, and the proceduresâ€™ charges performed by a specific doctor or all doctors.
The CMIS system contains an easy way to generate prescriptions.
Doctors can personalize their prescription note through adding a personal signature. Then drug, dosage, frequency, and duration are all selected from predefined lists; eliminating the need to type altogether.
The system provides several easy methods to compos prescription. Drugs can be located either alphabetically, or from within groups of related drugs. Doctors can browse through a list, generated and maintained by the system, of the most frequently prescribed drugs. Further, templates of frequently issued prescriptions can be created and recalled for use at any time.
The system contains a module to provide the user with a number of useful statistics, in both textual and graphical format, about the occupancy of the clinic, and its financial status.
The system contains complete archiving abilities. You can store, and retrieve at any time, X-rays, photos, video clips, voice recordings, scanned patient charts, and any other scanned or digitized file.
The system contains a module that allows the user to send E-mails to the patients by the date and time of their appointments.
CMIS has a multi-level security scheme; access to any program is controlled by a USERâ€™S ID and a PASSWORD that you can grant to the different users of your system (i.e. assistants, nurses, technicians), while blocking access to the critical programs and data (i.e. accounting, personal check book, etc.).
